Vestas Wind Systems

Bay Arch has functioned as consulting architects for Vestas on all of the buildings at the harbour-side of Ringkøbing. The buildings cover a development centre as well as domiciles for two subsidiaries.

The Vestas Development centre is the last of the buildings and is located furthest from the city and with water on two sides. With respect for the flat landscape the building kind of tucks away and hides from the wind and the wild nature. The idea behind the architecture was to mimic the look of a large ocean liner.

Bay Arch har været arkitektrådgiver på alle Vestas’ byggerier på Ringkøbing Havnefront. Byggerierne tæller bl.a. Vestas Udviklingscenter samt domiciler til to datterselskaber.

Vestas Udviklingscenter er det sidste i rækken og er placeret længst væk fra byen og med vandet på to sider. Med respekt for det flade landskab putter bygningen sig lidt i landskabet, den gemmer sig nærmest for vinden og den vilde natur. Ideen bag arkitekturen var at bygningen på afstand skulle ligne en stor oceandamper.
